Keep Your VITA 67 RF Signal Path All SV Microwave; Any Difference Could Be Your Loss
SV Microwave is a longstanding participant in the VITA community and an active member of the electro-mechanical and hardware working groups. We are committed to staying at the forefront of VITA technologies and offer all 3 VITA 67.3 interfaces: SMPM, SMPS, and NanoRF, along with legacy 67.1/.2 and hybrid 66.5 interconnects.
We offer COTS/MOTS (commercial off-the-shelf and military off-the-shelf) parts at every step of the RF signal path, with the ability to create custom configurations as needed, from inside the box to outside the box. These parts include contacts, discrete and harness cable assemblies, adapters, and connector Backplane and Plug-in modules.
Along with our extensive offering and being a one-stop VITA shop, SV’s resident VITA managers actively participate in VITA and SOSA technical committees, giving us a deep understanding of evolving VITA standards and real-world design challenges. This leads to shorter development timelines, increasing the readiness of our defense systems during missions.
Explore our VITA offerings and capabilities below, and discover why when RF and reliability matter, you should choose SV Microwave.
Best in Class Machining

SV Microwave’s facilities are AS9100 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certified, allowing our interconnects to meet the industry’s most stringent standards for quality management and workmanship. We manufacture in the U.S. using precision machining with tolerances to +/-.0003”, ensuring high-quality parts.
Along with our in-house vertical integration, we offer electrical simulation to ensure all parts are optimized with each other. This ensures our work is exact and repeatable, guaranteeing maximum performance and minimizing loss.

Vertical/Edge & Multiport Board Mounts

SV Microwave offers a variety of vertical/edge and multiport PCB board-mount connectors that can operate inside the box. Engineered to work within tight envelopes, SV’s PCB connectors operate DC - 65 GHz and can allow for a variety of single, two- and four-port configurations. These connectors can help route your signal closer to your SOC (system-on-a-chip).
Explore our board mount offerings today.
Coaxial Cable Assemblies

SV can offer both discrete and harness cable assemblies aligned with VITA 67.1/.2, 67.3, and VITA 66.5 standards, as well as VITA 46/65/90/100 (for backplane, payload card, and optical integration), SOSA standards, and OpenVPX embedded platforms.
With engineering and manufacturing facilities in West Palm Beach, FL, and Mesa, AZ, we offer both custom lengths to meet your specific application needs (factory-direct) and standard lengths (via our franchised distribution partners ). Our cable assemblies are optimized for embedded system RF design, with consistent, verified S-parameter performance.
We offer a variety of cable types, such as:
- compact Ø.047" coax for dense routing and tight bends
- versatile and rugged Ø.085" coax for wider bandwidth needs
- Ø.087”-LL coax, a low insertion loss cable for precision signal integrity
SV Microwave’s Rapid Response Cable Builder allows you to create VITA 67.1/.2 and 67.3 cable assemblies online. These cables are custom-made for your application and ship within ten business days.
Along with our standard and custom cable assembly offerings, we’ve launched a new capability for ganged cable assemblies. PCB systems designs in embedded systems are incorporating high-density SMP and SMPM multiports, increasing installation complexity. Mating multiple discrete cable assemblies in tight spaces can not only increase assembly time but also increase the risk of misalignment. SV has created ganged RF cable assemblies that mate directly with available COTS multiport connectors, enabling a single push-on interface with simple installation.
VITA 67 & 66 Blocks and Contacts

Sample Backplane and Plug-In Card
In an embedded system application, there are two halves to any VITA module: the Plug-in Card and the Backplane. SV Microwave offers a variety of VITA 66.5, 67.1, 67.2, and VITA 67.3 Plug-In and Backplane modules and blocks in SMPM, SMPS, and NanoRF interfaces.
We also offer a range of VITA 67.1, 67.2, and 67.3 contacts and connectors to populate your modules and blocks. We offer female and male contacts and connectors in all three VITA 67 series. A select range of these connectors and contacts is also SOSA-aligned.
Our VITA 66.5 RF/Fiber Hybrid Blocks and Modules are available in three interfaces as well: SMPM, SMPS, and NanoRF. These modules are a fiber MT ferrule housing combined and integrated into a coaxial module. All configurations comply with the latest SOSA specification and can be used with standard MT Ferrule patch cords.
Along with our standard module and block offerings, we also offer our VITA Developer Kit. This kit allows customers to quickly and easily prototype embedded system designs for VITA 67. Ideal for prototyping and production level-testing, it includes a backplane, multiport module, rugged VITA RF cable assemblies, screws, a driver tool, contact installation and removal tools, and more.
D38999 / D32689 Harnesses & Bulkhead I/O Connectors

SOSA & VITA-Aligned Sample Kit - SAMMI SOSA
SV can terminate your VITA backplane to a variety of multiport I/O panel solutions. Instead of cabling to individual I/O connectors, it’s often beneficial to use a multport I/O connector, such as a D38999 & D32689 circular connector or a rectangular multiport connector. These connectors allow for increased density and ruggedization.
We offer a variety of D38999 & D32689 contacts and cable assemblies in sizes 8, 12, 16, and, most recently, size 20, our highest-density option. We are able to build custom harnesses for your application as needed.
Sensors
SV provides the industry's broadest line of coaxial threaded and push-on interconnects to support your antenna sensor application. We offer standard COTS and MOTS items and have the ability to create custom solutions as needed.
Additionally, SV has a broad selection of high-power coaxial connectors for airborne and space applications where corona and multipaction are design factors.
Other Offerings to Optimize Your Design
SV has a variety of other offerings to further optimize your design. Explore these below.
VITA 67.3 Tools

At SV Microwave, we understand that installing and removing contacts and cable assemblies from a VITA module can be difficult. That’s why we developed our full line of VITA tools for each interface type, making this process easy for you.
These tools include tools for a multitude of situations, such as:
- Installing and uninstalling the removable adapter from the 67.3 SMPM or SMPS backplane when already installed in the chassis
- Installing and uninstalling the removable adapter from the 67.3 SMPM or SMPS backplane when not installed in the chassis
- Installing and removing SMPM or SMPS 0.047” or 0.085” cable assemblies from Backplane or Plug-in Module
Adapters
Adapters enable system designers to validate electrical performance and maintain signal integrity during development. They also offer a reliable solution for validating VITA contact performance without compromising signal quality and improving overall performance.
SV Microwave recently added a new line of adapters to our VITA product line. The NanoRF VITA 67.3 adapters are designed to support the test, calibration, and optimization of embedded systems using SV’s NanoRF VITA 67.3 Contacts. They provide direct access to individual NanoRF pin (Backplane) and socket (Plug-In) contacts.

This new set of adapters joins our existing set of adapters for VITA 67.1, 67.2 & 67.3 SMPM and SMPS product lines. All adapters are built for repeatability and repeated use, which is needed when testing high-frequency embedded computing system designs. Rated for 500 mating cycles with a dielectric withstanding voltage of 250 VRMS, all of SV’s adapters adhere to the environmental testing conditions set forth in MIL-STD-202.
