SV Microwave and VITA Standards

VITA standards provide open standards that help engineers develop modular systems for demanding defense and aerospace applications. At the center of these VITA standards are VPX platforms, which use standardized plug-in cards in 3U and 6U form factors, with 4U emerging as an additional option. This open, modular architecture gives engineers greater flexibility to pick and choose various technologies from different suppliers while adapting systems as requirements shift and change.
Meeting the Demands of Modern VPX Systems
As VPX systems become more capable, engineers are packing more processing power, RF channels, and functionality into increasingly limited space. High-performance RF interconnects play a critical role in making that possible. At SV Microwave, we develop solutions that provide the density, signal integrity, and reliability needed to support these demanding embedded systems.
SV Microwave VITA 67.3 Expertise

Our VITA 67.3 portfolio includes SMPM, SMPS, and NanoRF interfaces, along with modules, contacts, cable assemblies, and other RF components. These technologies make high-density RF connectivity between cards and backplanes possible while helping engineers make the most of the limited space available within a VPX system.
SV Microwave’s Support for the SOSA Ecosystem
Our involvement in the VITA ecosystem extends beyond our product portfolio. We regularly participate in the development of VITA and SOSA standards, bringing our extensive RF interconnect expertise to the standardization process. We have helped drive the adoption of high-density technologies such as the SMPS interface within the VITA and SOSA ecosystems. SOSA, or the Sensor Open Systems Architecture, builds upon the principles of open architecture for defense systems. SV Microwave products support greater bandwidth, more RF channels, and increased functionality. In demanding environments the need for compact, standardized interconnect solutions continues to grow and SV Microwave has the RF products to support those requirements. Our expertise with VITA 67.3 positions us to aid in these evolving requirements. Most recently, our Product Manager, Eddie Alexander, has been chosen to chair the VITA 100 committee.
VITA 100 is the next generation of open architecture, supporting 3U, 4U, and 6U systems while focusing on demands for performance, power, and cooling. We are building on our leadership in VITA 67.3 as we continue contributing to the development of RF interconnect solutions for VITA 100. From today's VPX platforms to the next generation of open architectures, we are helping engineers connect more capability into smaller, higher-performance systems.
