SV Microwave offers design, assembly, and test services to support your harness needs for a variety of applications such as Mil-Aero, Commercial Space, Hi-Reliability, and more! Our J-STD certified harness technicians have experience manufacturing harnesses for some of the most challenging conditions in the industry, including Low Earth Orbit, Military Aircraft, and Industrial Test and Measurement Applications. With over 15 years of experience in complex harness design, ranging from pure-play RF harnesses to mixed-signal and multi-leg bundles, SV is able to support a broad spectrum of harnesses, from Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) to custom orders.

SV can create both pure RF microwave harnesses and mixed-signal harnesses that combine various inputs, such as digital, quadrax, power, and RF/optical combinations. We support the full spectrum of harness interfaces, including:

Likewise, all of SV's harnesses can be terminated to a complete line of coaxial interfaces, including:

SV is able to create RF cable assemblies for your Embedded System application. Among these are harness cable assemblies. We offer custom or standard lengths for VITA coaxial interfaces, including SMPM, SMPS, and NanoRF. We’re able to offer Ø.047" coax cables for compact dense routing and tight bends, Ø.085" coax cables that provide versatility and ruggedness for wider bandwidth needs, and phase-stable, low-loss cables for precision signal integrity. We support assemblies across the following standards:

 

  • VITA 67.1/67.2/67.3 & 66.5
  • VITA 46/65/90/100 (for backplane, payload card, and optical integration)
  • SOSA-aligned and OpenVPX embedded platforms

SV offers one of the broadest ranges of high-frequency 38999 contacts. With frequencies of up to 65 GHz, we offer sizes 8, 12, 16, and 20. This enables us to meet the increasing demand for higher-frequency contacts in fields such as satellite communications and electromagnetic warfare.

 

We’re able to offer such high-frequency contacts in two ways:

 

  1. Modify interfaces to high-frequency, standard interfaces such as BMA, BMZ, SMPM, SMPS, and other non-standard interfaces
  2. Modify the back ends to accept high-performance cables such as the t-flex 405

 

Modern system designs are incorporating mixed RF, DC, and power signals together with tighter packaging requirements. SV’s full portfolio of size 8, 12, 16, and most recently, our highest density option, size 20 contacts, is available in several different styles for various applications, including MIL-SPEC and spring-loaded high-frequency options to meet these requirements.

 

We’ve expanded our 38999 capabilities into various other sectors, including 75 Ω transmission line solutions and the development of VITA/D38999 Cable Assemblies.


75 Ω VITA/D38999 Cable Assemblies

Our 75 Ω D38999 Circular RF Cable Assemblies enable us to deliver high-frequency solutions for applications in IR imaging, sensing, and high-definition video. Our VITA/D38999 Cable Assemblies are available in VITA 67.3 SMPM, SMPS, and NanoRF series, terminating into various D38999 BMB, SMPM, and SMPS interfaces, with respective sizes 8, 12, and 16 contacts. Both can fit into D38999 series I, III, and IV housings.

SV provides a COTS offering of Mini-D RF harness cable assemblies. This line offers multiport harnessed cable assemblies with a rugged, lightweight aluminum housing. It features .110” port-to-port spacing, optimizing space in compact system designs and high-density applications. Highly versatile and suitable for use in the field, this line is available in straight, right-angle, and panel mount configurations. Its SMPS interface is recessed from the D-Sub housing to prevent damage, and its D-Sub keyring design avoids mismating.
