10 Years of Rapid Response
Rapid Response, SV Microwave’s single-port cable builder, just had its 10th anniversary. It’s the most user-friendly RF Cable Builder application available, with 24/7 online ordering and instant access to datasheets, pricing, and technical specifications.

The Beginning and Early Names
Rapid Response was developed due to a need for quick, custom cable assemblies (Did you know they ship in just 10 days?). On July 31st, 2015, Rapid Response was launched on our site with 13 connector options and 3 cable types. But it wasn’t always named Rapid Response.

Rapid Response started out as “Quick React Cable” or “QRC”. Multiple other names were suggested, like High Speed Cable Assemblies/High Speed Delivery, High Speed Guaranteed Cables (Frequency and Delivery), Quick Quality, and “Need it NOW” cables. But in the end, the name that a Manufacturing Engineering Manager suggested, Rapid Response, stuck.

Now that we had a solid name and the site was launched, it was time to let the world know about Rapid Response. Check out some early marketing efforts below!

Over the years, we’ve made many additions and changes to Rapid Response. We’re now able to support phase delay matching and have three cable types: Ø.085 Flexible Coax, Ø.047 SuperFlex Coax, and Ø.047 Flexible Coax. We normally also have Ø.087-LL, but due to global supply chain delays, it’s temporarily out of stock. (If you need a cable assembly with Ø.087-LL, contact us at RapidResponse@svmicro.com to discuss an alternate solution.)
First Rapid Response Cable Assembly
While we started with 13 connectors, we now have 30 available, allowing for over a thousand connector/cable combinations. These range from more specialized connectors like Quarterback™, Threaded SMPM, and Low Profile SMA Connectors to VITA/SOSA™ options like VITA SMPM plug-in contacts and D38999 Pins and Sockets.
Rapid Response sales have grown by an incredible 13,500% since 2015! This increase in demand has forced us to modernize and automate many of our handling processes to ensure we can still meet that 10-day turnaround with quality assurance.
